You all know them.  Randy & Lisa Snapp.  If you don't, it's surprising!  

Randy and Lisa moved to Fredericksburg in 1993.  Randy went to work for Crenwelge Motors in Kerrville and Lisa, for Crenwelge Buick here in Fredericksburg.  Then both went to Immel Motors for several years.  Randy coached all your boys in Little League for years, who are all now grown up with families of their own and Lisa started a zillion Facebook groups including Highway 290 Alliance which has been responsible for numerous safety measures on the highway.  

In 2000, the Snapps started their "American Dream" of owning their own business with Wholesale Auto Brokers and apparently, enjoyed being their own bosses by opening Hill Country RV Center on Highway 87 and The Motor Pool Car Rental at the airport.

In 2009, Randy & Lisa bought the Fredericksburg KOA - back when it was a campground WAY out in the country.  Since then, as everyone knows, their area has become the place to be.  Just four miles from town, their park is four miles from Luckenbach, practically across the road from Altstadt Brewery, two miles from Trade Days & perfectly centered in the middle of the Texas Wine Country.

After a long year of the pandemic, business at the RV park is going CRAZY!  Since people aren't flying like they used to, they are buying RVs and the RV park has seen a monumental year of new guests.

Randy and Lisa and their amazing staff have been welcoming guests to their "home" on the corner for twelve years under the KOA franchise.  Their park has been in the KOA system since the 1970s with numerous owners but if you ask the Snapps, they are the last ones.  They aren't going anywhere.

That said, as of June 1, 2021, Fredericksburg KOA will no longer be a KOA.  (How in the world will you know where to turn to go to Luckenbach???)  According to Lisa, "Although KOA was a great asset when we were the little park in the middle of nowhere, that's no longer the case.  Everybody wants to stay at this end of town!"

The new name of this many-years-over award winning park will be Bending Oaks Ranch RV Resort.  Many improvements are already underway with much more to come.  Randy, the mathematician of the family, is ready to stop sending advertising dollars to a franchise and start putting those dollars back into the park.  "It's going to be an amazing opportunity to enhance what is already a beautiful park."

The park is known for its amazing oak trees that provide not only shade in the summer but, along with the jaw-dropping sunsets, great photo ops.  Many species of birds, including Whistling Ducks, have found these grand oaks to be an incredible seasonal home as have many RVers looking for a relaxing, quiet getaway in the country with tons of shade.  If asked, the Snapps will tell you right away that the glory of their park belongs to these gigantic trees.

So, appropriately, the name Bending Oaks Ranch it is.  Throw in a few Longhorns and some fresh-egg-laying chickens, what else could you name it?  

Fredericksburg KOA aka Bending Oaks Ranch and Randy & Lisa Snapp would like to thank KOA for their relationship but more importantly, thank our community who has been nothing but supportive in every single effort & endeavor over many years.  The Snapps look forward to many great years on their little corner of heaven on Highway 290 and RR 1376 as the Bending Oaks Ranch with the continued friendships made over the years.
